FIRST AMENDMENT TO 24/25 SHIP -DR DISASTER ASSISTANCE GRANT
AGREEMENT
This First Amendment to Disaster Assistance Grant Agreement (this "First Amendment")
is made as of this day of 3y -6i O 2025 by and between the City of Clearwater, a Florida
municipal corporation (the "City"), and Michele Edwards, an individual (the "Recipient" and
collectively with the City the "Parties").
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, many of the City's residents have incurred substantial damage and expenses
due to the effects of Hurricanes Helene and Milton; and
WHEREAS, the City, through its State Housing Initiatives Partnership ("SHIP") funding has
established the City of Clearwater Disaster Assistance Strategy under which SHIP funds may be
awarded in amounts not to exceed $20,000.00 per household to eligible City residents who have been
impacted by the effects of Hurricanes Helene and Milton (the "Program"); and
WHEREAS, the Recipient is the owner of certain real property located at 1424 Heaven Sent
Lane, Clearwater, FL 33755 (the "Property"); and
WHEREAS, the Parties entered into that certain Disaster Assistance Grant Agreement dated
August 15, 2025, where the City awarded a grant to the Recipient in the amount not to exceed
$7,050.00; and
WHEREAS, the Parties now wish to amend the Agreement to increase the Grant Funds to
an amount not to exceed $9,330.00 to account for additional work in replacing fascia corners for both
sides of entryway as well as both sides of the garage, repair the garage door trim, and paint all of the
repaired work; and
WHEREAS, the City finds that providing financial assistance for disaster relief to the
Recipient is a permissible use of the City's SHIP funds.
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and covenants contained
herein, the Parties hereby agree as follows:
1. Recitals. The foregoing recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein and form
a part of this First Amendment.
2. Amendment. The Agreement is hereby amended to increase the Grant Funds to an amount
not to exceed nine thousand three hundred thirty dollars and 00/100 cents ($9,330.00).
3. In the event of conflict or ambiguity between the terms and provisions of this First
Amendment and the Agreement, the terms and provisions of this First Amendment shall
control to the extent of any such conflict or ambiguity.

4. All sections of the Agreement not expressly amended herein shall remain in full force and
effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have caused this First Amendment to be
executed on the date and year first above written.
