Sullivan Board Reporter Absent: J. B. Johnson Vice Chair/Commissioner Pat Shepler Committee Member John Scacca Committee Member The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall. To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order. ITEM #2 - Approval of Minutes Member Fitzgerald moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of September 10, 1998, as corrected by the City Clerk Department. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #3 - Employees to be Heard - None. ITEM #4 - Action Items a) Review and Action on Employee Requests for Years of Service Pension 1. Jeffrey E. Harper - Information Management Director, Information Management Member Clark moved to approve a Years of Service Pension for Jeffrey E. Harper. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. b) Approval of New Hires as Pension Plan Members As of October 1, 1998, the City has 1,663.8 FTEs and 1,735.5 budgeted positions. Member Clark moved to accept the following employees into membership in the Pension Plan: Date of Pension Employment Elig. ITEM #5 - Pending/New Business Actuarially Reduced Pensions Administrative Analyst Debbie Ford said staff had distributed copies for board review of the 1994 Settlement Agreement and General Release related to the 1988 case Snair vs. City of Clearwater. When the issue is agendaed, staff will provide background information and analysis. Ms. Ford reported the Pension Trustees had approved independent counsel for the PAC (Pension Advisory Board) based on the recommendation by the City Attorney. A RFP (Request for Proposals) is being processed. A Legal Department representative no longer will attend PAC meetings. ITEM #6 - Director's Reports The next PAC meeting is scheduled for November 12, 1998. ITEM #7 - Board Members to be Heard - None. ITEM #8 - Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 9:06 a.m.
