Sullivan Board Reporter Absent: Pat Greer Committee Member John Scacca Committee Member The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. at City Hall. To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order. ITEM #2 - Approval of Minutes Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of May 14, 1998, to be considered on August 13, 1998. ITEM #3 - Employees to be Heard - None. ITEM #4 - Action Items a) Review and Action on Employee Requests for Years of Service Pension 1. James H. Davis - Librarian II, Library Department Member Johnson moved to approve a Years of Service Pension for James H. Davis. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. b) Review and Action on Employee Requests to Vest Pension 1. Timothy T. Treble - Police Officer, Police Department Timothy T. Treble has resigned his position after being employed by the City for more than 10 years. He will qualify to receive his pension beginning February 1, 2007. AND 2. Anita C. Daniels - Library Assistant, Library Department Anita C. Daniels has resigned her position after being employed by the City for more than 11 years. She will qualify to receive her pension beginning November 1, 2008. Member Fitzgerald moved to approve the requests by Timothy T. Treble and Anita C. Daniels to vest their Pensions. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. c) Approval of New Hires as Pension Plan Members Member Clark moved to accept the following employees into membership in the Pension Plan: Date of Pension Employment Elig. Team 05/26/98 05/26/98 The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #5 - Pending/New Business a) Barbara E. French - Hearing to consider non-job-connected Disability Pension Assistant City Attorney Leslie Dougall-Sides said the City is not contesting this request. Based on the packets distributed to members, it was felt the City’s position is correct. Member Clark moved that Barbara E. French be granted a Non-Job-Connected Disability Pension effective on a date to be determined based on Ms. French’s disability which is described as problems with vision, speaking on the telephone, panic attacks, and walking; these problems making her permanently unable to perform her job and documented by numerous medical statements of Karl D. Jones, M.D., David E. Stenmark, Ph.D., Chrisoula Kiriazis, M.D., Philip L. Shettle, D.O., James A. Rush, M.D., Jonathan A. Mines, M.D., and Jeffrey M. Karp, M.D., IME (Independent Medical Exam) physician, with accompanying dates of all the doctor visits and the February 9, 1998, compilation of data taken from the vocational evaluation process at Boley Centers. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #6 - Director's Reports Interim Human Resources Director Steve Rosenthal was complimented and thanked for his service to the City and committee. Following the meeting, it was stated the July 9, 1998, PAC meeting is canceled. The next PAC meeting is scheduled for August 13, 1998. ITEM #7 - Board Members to be Heard In response to a question regarding new employees not considered today for membership in the Pension Plan, Administrative Analyst Debbie Ford said the postponement, caused by paperwork delays, would not affect any of their Pension benefits. ITEM #8 - Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 9:11 a.m.
