Osceola Avenue Clearwater, FL 33755 e Meeting Minutes Wednesday, February 19, 2025 4:00 PM Special Meeting Main Library - Council Chambers Environmental Advisory Board 1 City of Clearwater Environmental Advisory Board Meeting Minutes February 19, 2025 Roll Call Present 5 - Chair Jared Leone, Board Member Glenna Wentworth, Board Member Kelly Dobbin, Board Member Michael Rubino, and Board Member Jason Drizd Also Present—Cassie Cordova — Sustainability Manager and Danielle DeBois — City Clerk Specialist 1. Call To Order The Chair called the meeting to order at 4 p.m. 2. Approval of Minutes 2.1 Approve the minutes of the November 20, 2024 Environmental Advisory Board meeting. Member Wentworth moved to approve the minutes of the November 20, 2024 Environmental Advisory Board as submitted in written summation. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 3. Citizens to be Heard Regarding Items Not on the Agenda Brian Beckman said the solar installation rate in clearwater is within the parameters of the city's green initiatives and spoke on rebates Dunedin provides citizens as a possible incentive to replicate in Clearwater. 4. New Business Items 4.1 Review 2025 Legislative Priorities Sustainability Division Manager Cassie Cordova was thanked for putting together a summation of the 2025 Legislative Priorities. There are several priorities in relation to the Board that can be encouraged and reviewed. It was said that it was appreciated seeing goals in relation to the Greenpoint plan. 4.2 Review presentation about Floatovoltaics Managing Director of D3Energy Stetson Tchividjian provided a PowerPoint presentation on Floatavoltaics and addressed questions regarding floating solar panels. 4.3 Elect EAB officers for 2025 2 City of Clearwater Environmental Advisory Board Meeting Minutes February 19, 2025 Chair Jared Leone moved to reelect the previous officers for continuation as Chair and Vice Chair. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 5. Old Business Items Ms. Cordova said the Stevenson Creek Feasibility Study will be presented to city leadership on the 24th with the recommendation of creating a no wake manatee zone. Ms. Cordova said the Coopers Bayou and Lake Belleview projects are progressing. 6. Director's Report Ms. Cordova said the letter of support by CRS was shared and adjustments are being made based off feedback received from the vulnerability assessment. She said the EV vehicles grant most likely will be honored under current administration however, other grants that were not fully executed for EV infrastructure and road mapping are now on hold. Ms. Cordova said the Greenpoint 3.0 is making preliminary progress and is being narrowed down to realistic timeline goals. 7. Board Members to be Heard 8. Adjourn The Board discussed potential future; availability for the April meeting. Ms. Wentworth announced a sustainability event through the Sierra Club in March with a focus on rebuilding and renovating sustainably. Board led discussion ensued regarding the Airpark's new building and solar use. A citizen thanked Ms. Cordova for her efforts towards a sustainable Clearwater.
