RESOLUTION NO. 25-07
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA APPROVING
COLLABORATION WITH THE GOVERNOR'S DEPARTMENT OF GOVERNMENTAL
EFFICIENCY TEAM; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on February 24, 2025, Governor Desantis signed Executive Order 25- ,
Ensuring Government Efficiency;
WHEREAS, the Executive Order establishes within the Office of Policy and Budget in the
Executive Office of the Governor a Department of Governmental Efficiency Team ("EOG DOGE
Team");
WHEREAS,the EOG DOGE Team is responsible for helping local governments to identify
unnecessary spending, eliminate waste, and save taxpayers money; and
WHEREAS, to best serve the people of Florida, local governments should in partnership
with EOG DOGE complete a comprehensive review conducted by the EOG DOGE Team to
eliminate unnecessary and inappropriate spending; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Clearwater City Council (City Council) supports EOG DOGE's efforts to identify
unnecessary spending, create efficiencies, and save taxpayer dollars.
Section 2. In a good faith effort to facilitate the mission of the EOG DOGE Team, the City Council
and staff will work in collaboration with the EOG DOGE Team to conduct any required
comprehensive reviews of the City's budget and operations and provide reports to EOG DOGE
Team on a timely basis.
Section 3. Through this partnership, and to the extent consistent with state and federal law, the
City Council will grant the EOG DOGE Team reasonable access to necessary records and any
physical premises to review documents and data which may assist the City in identifying
efficiencies.
Section 4. The City Council supports identifying and working to eliminate misspending, eliminate
waste, and save taxpayers money.
Section 5. The City Council will fully cooperate with the EOG DOGE Team to identify
administrative and policy reforms and best practices to promote efficiency and maximize
productivity within local government.
Section 6. The City Council directs city staff, and elected officials to fully consider all EOG DOGE
Team requests permitted by state and federal law and to provide any reasonable access and
requested information to the EOG DOGE Team.
Section 7. The City Council appoints the City Manager to serve as the point of contact in
coordination with the Mayor for all EOG DOGE Team-related inquiries.
