The City' Comrnission met in re�ular session the evening of October 6, 19l�7,
at 7:30 P.M, With the following memBers present: T, 0, Houze, J, R. Crane,T, A.

The meetin� was called ��o order by Mayor Ho�e andnthe minutes oi` the la;3t
meetings wore read and approvb�_ ,
Mr. Willie Stephsns of the South Clearwrater Couanunity Club pri�icized the
delay in i'inishing Greenwond Avenue sa.dewalk. He and Captai:n Bob Beauchamp
invited the Gity Commission tn meet with them at a mass meetin� to be held
in the City Hal1 �udi�torium on October 9, 19L�7. Mayor $ouze s�tated that the
Commissian would give ihe invitation consider,ation.
�r. Albert N. Sznit h of North Clearwafer addressed the Commisaiornand
expressed his satisfaction with services rendered by the City and denied that
the representatives of the Belmont Association had t�e ri�ht to epea� Pc�r his
section of the City,
Ordinance No, 5�.F3, re�ulating watex servic e, was read and it v�as moved by
Commi,ssioner Johnson, seconded by Couu�iissioner Crane and �arried that Ordinance
No. 54�' be passed on its third and final reading. Voting Aye were; J. 0.
Houze, J. �Z, Crane, T, A. Johnson, Ul. C. ti'Vellsa Not voting: H. D. Sargeant.
A letter �'rom the Clearwater Beach Progressive Association was read and u��n
' instructi�n of` the Mayor, �de a part af the minutes.
City kttorney Smith requested more time on the Zoning 0rdinance, It Wss
granted until the next meeting,
Nayor's committiee on Zoning -�ommissioner Johnson sugges�ed a meEting
with tha City httorney snd the Zoning Board httorney, �ommi.ssioner Sargeant
suggested the Chairman of the Zoning Bo�rd, bir, Day, be asked also.
k resolut3on by the Sun:set Point Givic Association was read anct upon recoLn-
mendation nf the Chairman made a portion oi the minutes. Chief oi Police
Eliiotti was instructed to confer with the County authorities about eliminating
'�rafiic hazards.
The CityIViana�er recommended the construction of:
1• 135o feet of � inch �,vater main of Highland, .fivenue i'rom Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard
to bruid Road, and the installation of two fire hydr`ants.

un�nimously carried thati the purchasa of material �or the first item be approved
ar_d that the second e nd t hi�d items be•appr�sved as s ubmitted.
A letter i'rom James Yeatropoul�s and James Megas,' operators of 14Y,�y Place"
at 1291 South Ft. Harrison xvenue, requested that they be pez�mitted to erect a
niarquee and avanings on their place of busi�ess. They ware presen� and were
advised tha� this matter �vould be consi dered at a future meeting.
" Comnissioner Crane .oi the Iuayor's Commititee on �iquor and Beer and Wine
lioc�nses recommended th�t licenses be grsnted to the �ollowing: GUnzalo Garcia,
operator of the Blue r,Ioan Resteurant as a Ziquor sto.re, Yete Fsamsdakis, owner
of the yinellas Billiard Park, and Joe Kalsidis, of the Sea Breeze Gril.l �or
beer and wine, subject to the final approval of the Chief of :�olice Elliott,
City Ni�r� ger Bennett read a s esolution reconmending that certain lots be
cleaned of grass, weeds and trash and that the otivners be assessad for the cos�s
of such cleanin�. I't was moved by Gomm.issi�ner Crane, seconded by Commi.s�-_oner '
Sargeant, ond unani�n��usly carried that the resolution be approved.

Willia�n H. VJolfe commended �he interest taken �n civio affairs by, noighbor}�ood
clubs and eYpreSsed t�o hope that more such clubs will be org�nizod. Ae �uggested
that those persons peti'tioning �or impxovem.ents, consider the �ost of the propased
improveme�ts and the source from which the necessary monies �re to be ob-tained,
There being no f.urther busines� to come before the Board, the meeting was
adjourned. �
