BACKGROUND
The Greater Clearwater Chamber of Commerce has been located m Its current facIlity at
128 N Osceola Avenue smce 1964 Located on City property, thIS locatIOn has served the
Chamber and the communIty well, however the bUIldmg had become obsolete and was no
longer efficIent to serve the needs of the cItizens of Clearwater In December of 1995,
the Chamber purchased a new faCIlity at 1130 Cleveland Street Fonnerly the CitIzens
Bank and Trust Co , tills new locatIOn, centrally located m the downtown dIstrICt of
Clearwater WIll be a cornerstone for Clearwater and the downtown area
ASSETS
The Chamber currently prOVides office accommodations and support systems for the
Downtown Development Board and the regional U S Department of Commerce, and WIll
contmue to do so m the new facIlIty AddItIOnally, a Small Busmess Resource Center
wIth mformation and busmess resources WIll be mcluded m our new faCIlity Plans are
bemg fonnulated for the POSSibIlIty ofprovIdmg Busmess Incubator opportunIties m the
new locatIOn as well This new locatIOn Will also feature a Community Room, a large
meetmg space for the commumty to utilIze for meetmgs and other functIOns A Board
room WIll also be avaIlable for meetmgs as well The Chamber IS currently In the final
negotiations with the United Way to lease approxlmatelyl,500 square feet, thus bnngmg
another presence to the downtown area

The Chamber plans to change the signs III the future makmg better use of the east sIde of
the bUlldmg and provIdmg greater vlSlblhty to VISItors and resIdents approachmg the
