The applicant [S requesting approval ot a boat rental business to be located at
the Bay Lawn Motel, 406 Hamden Dnve, Clearwater Beach
Boats
A maximum ot SIX 12' to 15' boats, having motors of 50HP or less
Dockaqe
The boats will be moored at the eXisting dock located at the motel Attached are
plans showing vanous configurations ot a mooring plan This channel IS well
protected and remains calm, even In storm conditions
Retuellng
All renters will be asked to return the boats full ot tuel, In whIch event the renters
will retuel the boats at the manna In the event a boat has not been retueled, the
owner will retlll them (at additional expense to the renter) by having tull tanks
available to be swapped All vessels will have Coast Guard approved portable
six-gallon gas tanks on board If spare tanks are kept on the dock, they will be
stored In a strong wooden box with a lock, which will be adequate
Maintenance
Simple maintenance, such as replacement ot hardware, spark plugs or cables,
will be done on site Engines can be easily swapped due to their smaller size
and taken off site tor repairs Any major maintenance, such as engine overhaul
or boat painting will be done off site The dock will be kept tidy, WIth any
maintenance Items and spare gas tanks In storage

There are 24 eXisting offstreet parking spaces at the Bay Lawn Motel, which
provides adequate excess parking to serve the boat rental customers
Hours ot OperatIon
The business will operate seven days a week, from 9 a m to sunset

Any advert[slng for the business will be done on the eXIsting, permitted sign,
located at the dock Any changes to the sign w[11 Involve a change ot the sign
face only
Customers
It IS anticipated that customers will be guests ot the motel and other walk-up
customers trom motels In the area
Minimum Wake
The applicant, at his own expense, IS willing to Install "minimum wake" signs In
the channel It deemed necessary by the harbormaster

. Message: Someone IS Interested In renting space from Bay Lawn Motel to rent out small boats
On the canal across Harnden Dnve from the motel, the Motel owns an eXisting dock and a 50 X 10
foot piece of property Attached IS the proposal With thiS boat configuration the boats will be In front
of another motel on the comer of Harnden and Bayslde Dnve I noticed that the other motel has a
small dock with a Jet ski
Could you take a look at thiS and tell me If you think that thiS IS a problem? With boats tied to each
other, It looks pretty unprofessional to me
