EXTENSION OF TECHNICAL RESCUE TEAM AGREEMENT EXTENSION OF TECHNICAL RESCUE TEAM AGREEMENT
THIS EXTENSION OF TECHNICAL RESCUE TEAM AGREEMENT ("Extension") is made this
6th day of October , 2020, by and between the Cities of Clearwater, Largo,
Pinellas Park, and St. Petersburg, Florida (individually the "Contractor," collectively the
"Contractors,") and Pinellas County by and through its Board of County Commissioners (the
"County") (individually, the "Party," and collectively, the "Parties").
1. The Contractors and the County currently work in conjunction to provide specialized
rescue services to the residents of Pinellas County pursuant to that certain 2016 Technical
Rescue Team Agreement entered into between the Contractors and the County on
September 27, 2016 with an effective date of October 1, 2015 (the "TRT Agreement").
Said TRT Agreement expires at midnight on September 30, 2020.
2. Article VIII, Section 801 of the TRT Agreement provides for an option for renewal of the
term for an additional five (5) year period following the initial term provided that the Parties
mutually agree in writing and subject to the County and the Contractors' approval prior to
July 1, 2020.
3. Article IX, Section 903 provides that the Parties may modify the Agreement by written
agreement duly executed by the Parties with the same formality and it is the desire of the
Parties to modify the terms of the TRT Agreement to allow for a one (1) year extension
with a new expiration date of September 30, 2021 and hereby agree to waive the provision
of the TRT Agreement which provides for a five (5) year renewal term.
4. The Contractors and the County have mutually agreed to evaluate the training program
and funding levels to meet the various technical rescue training components including
trench rescue, structure collapse, urban search and rescue, high angle/ rope rescue, swift
water rescue, machinery and industrial extrication, and technical rescue medical specialist
during the next fiscal year.
5. The Contractors and the County agree that, except as provided herein, upon approval of
this Extension, all terms of the TRT Agreement will remain in force and effect as if the
original term extended to September 30, 2021 .
6. This Agreement may be executed in more than one counterpart, each of which shall be
deemed an original.
NOW THEREFORE, for good and valuable consideration, the receipt and adequacy of which is
hereby acknowledged, the Contractors and the County hereby agree to extend the term of the
TRT Agreement for one(1)year to September 30,2021 on the terms and conditions stated above.
