Mike Waters Police Department Cynthia E. Goudeau City Clerk Patricia O. Sullivan Board Reporter The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m. at City Hall. To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order. Discussion Discussion ensued regarding options for the center of the roundabout. It was recommended the structure have a water feature, make a statement, reduce the tunnel effect, lower maintenance costs, minimize water use, and deter pedestrian and vehicular access. Staff distributed Option 5 for the center of the roundabout (Exhibit A). Concern was expressed an island of landscaping in a pool of water would be difficult to maintain. As the fountain is unattractive now without water, and construction cannot begin until after Spring Break 2002, it was suggested a short-term solution be determined. Approval of Minutes Member Casey moved to approve the minutes of the regular meetings of September 10 and 24, 2001, as recorded and submitted in written summation to each committee member. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Next Meeting Date The next CBEAC meeting is scheduled for October 29, 2001. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
