A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, ASSESSING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY
HAVING A POST OFFICE ADDRESS OF 401 N GARDEN
AVE, CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, AS DESCRIBED MORE
PARTICULARLY HEREIN, IN THE AMOUNT OF $27,444.24
FOR THE COSTS OF DEMOLITION AND OTHER
EXPENSES INCURRED IN REMOVING A DANGEROUS
STRUCTURE WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE OWNER;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 47 of the Clearwater Code of Ordinances and
the Standard Building Code, the Building Official determined that certain real property
described herein and the building situated thereon were unsafe, unsanitary, unfit for
human habitation, and dangerous and detrimental to the health, safety, and general
welfare of the community, and did not comply with the requirements of said Code before
expenses were incurred; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater and the owner have caused the abatement of
the unsafe building, and the City's costs of such work should now be assessed as a lien
on behalf of the City of Clearwater against the property; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Building Official having ordered the abatement of the unsafe
building situated on the following described property:
The West 1/2 of Lot 11, Block 2, HART'S ADDITION TO CLEARWATER,
according to the map or plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 1, Page 94,
of the Public Records of Hillsborough County, Florida of which Pinellas
County was formerly a part.

And the City of Clearwater having now completed said work, the City Council does
hereby assess and charge a lien on behalf of the City of Clearwater against the property
for the necessary costs incurred as follows:
TOTAL DEMOLITION COSTS $27,444.24

Section 2. As soon as practicable, a Certificate of Indebtedness against the
property for the amount of assessment shall be prepared, which certificate shall
constitute a lien prior to all other liens except the lien for taxes. Said certificate, when
issued, shall be payable to the City with interest at a rate of ten percent (10%) per
annum.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to prepare a Notice of Lien in the
amount of the assessment against said property, and to record the same in the Public
Records of Pinellas County, Florida.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
