Item #2 - Minutes of the February 5, 1987 Meeting.
The meeting
Commissioner Winner moved to approve the minutes of the meeting of
February 5, 1987, as submitted. Motion was duly seconded and carried
unanimously.
Item #3 - Request for the Lease of Lots 6 & 7, Block 5, Magnolia Park
Subdivision to the Trustees of the Bilgore Liquidating Trust.
The Bilgore Liquidating Trust has proposed to lease the building now
occupied by them at the northwest corner of Myrtle Avenue and Pierce Street
for a period of two years at a monthly rental of $400.00. The Trust shall be
responsible for payment of all real estate taxes levied against the property
and for its maintenance. The Trust shall provide comprehensive general
liability insurance in the amount of $500,000.00 and fire extended coverage
insurance on the buildings in the amount of $100,000.00, naming the
Redevelopment Agency as an additional insured.
The building contains 1,985 square feet, was erected in 1965, and is in
average condition. Taxes were separately assessed for the leased property in
1986 and at full discount amounted to $2,058.64. The proposed rental equates
to a gross rental of $4.00 per square foot with a reduction for taxes and a
$1,082.00 maintenance allowance.
It was indicated that this is a fair rental rate and taxes are to be paid
on that portion of the property that is to be leased
Commissioner Winner moved to approve the request. Motion was duly
seconded and carried unanimously.
