Community Redevelopment Agency Meeting

The City Commission of the City of Clearwater met as the Community
Redevelopment Agency at City Hall, Thursday, October 16, 1986. The meeting
was convened at 6:56 p.m. with the following members present:

ITEM #2 - Minutes of October 2, 1986 meeting.
Commissioner Garvey moved to approve the minutes of the meeting of October
2, 1986 as submitted. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously.
Item #3 - Resolution CRA 86-3 - Requesting the Board of County Commissioners
to cancel and discharge tax liens upon certain real property acquired for public
purposes and to grant tax exemption. (Lots 1-10, inclusive, Block 5, Magnolia
Park Sub.)
The Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Clearwater has acquired
certain real property for public use purposes and requests that the Board of
County Commissioners of Pinellas County discharge any and all liens for taxes,
from the date of acquisition, held or owned by the County or the State of
Florida upon said lands, and to further provide these lands shall be exempt
from County taxation so long as the lands are owned and used for such public
purposes.
Section 196.28, Florida Statutes, grants the Board of County Commissioners
full power and authority to accomplish this request.
The Community Redevelopment Agency guarantees payment of taxes prior to
the date of transfer of the properties.
Commissioner Garvey moved to pass and adopt Resolution CRA 86-3 and to
authorize the appropriate officials to execute same. Motion was duly seconded.
Upon roll call the vote was:
"Ayes": Garvey, Regulski, Winner and Kelly.
"Nays": None.
The meeting adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
