July 19, 1984
The City Commission of the City of Clearwater met as the Community
Redevelopment Agency at City Hall, Thursday, July 19, 1984. The meeting
was convened at 4:21 p.m. with the following members present:
Kathleen Kelly Mayor -Commissioner
Rita Garvey Vice Mayor/Commissioner
James L. Berfield Commissioner
James Calderbank Commissioner
William G. Justice Commissioner

The Mayor called the meeting to order.
ITEM CRA #2 - Minutes.
Commissioner Garvey moved to approve the minutes of October 6, 1983.
Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously.
ITEM CRA #3 - Clearwater Square Development Agreement Amendment.
The agreement between the city, the Redevelopment Agency and J. K.
Financial Corporation provided J.K. Financial Corporation deposit
$650,000 as the purchase price of the Jannelli parcel and $140,000 for
parking lot 9 with the Agency. J.K. Financial Corporation has requested
that the Agency accept, in lieu of those deposits, one or more letters
of credit totaling the amounts of the required deposits pending the entry
of an order of taking by the Court.
Gilbert G. Jannelli, owner of the property to be condemned, presented
a counter offer of a settlement price of $925,000. The offer includes
$25,000 for relocation of a tenant currently in the building with a
two-year lease.
Commissioner Garvey moved to approve the amendment to the agreement
to provide for the substitution of irrevocable letters of credit for cash
deposits and that the appropriate officials be authorized to execute same.
Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously.
