08/05/1982* • • (City Commission Meeting - August 5, 1982) The meeting was adjourned at 5:10 p.m. and the Commission convened as the Community Redevelopment Agency. Coity Redevelopment Agency - Special Meeting Consistent with the Redevelopment Plan for Downtown Clearwater and the interim development agreement with the Radnor Corporation, it is appropriate at this time to solicit proposals for development of an office and retail building in the downtown enterprise zone. Proposals must comply with the early action goals of the Redevelopment Plan for downtown Clearwater with respect to location (Blocks 28, 30 or 31) size (80,000 to 125,000 square feet) and mixture of office and retail usage. The advertisement will appear in the Clearwater Sun, St. Petersburg Times and Tampa Tribune newspapers and upon request a prepared packet of information will be made available to any prospective applicant at a charge of $10.00 to cover copy and mailing costs. The deadline for submission will be September 24 and approximately 30 days will be needed to review and make a recommendation. Charles Finton expressed concerns on the short time -frame for applicants to submit a proposal for such a large project. Commissioner Hatchett moved to authorize advertisement of the request for proposals for an office -retail center in downtown Clearwater and that the appropriate officials be authorized to execute same. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. The City Commission reconvened at 5:20 p.m.
