11/19/1981 4 CITY COMMISSION MEETING November 19, 1981 The City Commission of the City of Clearwater met in regular session at the City Hall, Thursday, November 19, 1981, at 5:03 p.m., with the following members present: Charles F. LeCher Paul A. Hatchett Rita Garvey James Calderbank Kathleen Kelly Also present were: Anthony L. Shoemaker Thomas A. Bustin Cecil Henderson David P. Healey Sidney Klein Lucille Williams Mayor -Commissioner Vice-Mayor/Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner City Manager City Attorney Representing Public Works Planning Director Police Chief City Clerk The Mayor called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Police Chief Klein. The invocation was given by the Reverend Herbert Freitag of Chapel -by -the -Sea. I - Introductions and Awards. Proclamatio adoption Week, November 22 through 28, 1981. Citation of Appreciation - ;- ne C. Bridges, Mobile Home Park Board. Employee of the Month - November 1981 - ara Sexsmith, Accounting Clerk II, the Building Department. The Commission recessed at 5:10 p.m. and convened as the Redevelopment Agency. A memorandum dated November 19, 1981, was distributed to the City Commission, Subject - Receipt and Referral of Review Comments and Recommendation to the City Commission for the Community Downtown Redevelopment Plan. The Planning Director reviewed the memorandum which contained a Resolution approving the plan by the Board of County Commissioners, a memo from the Pinellas Planning Council recommending the plan be adopted, and an addendum of proposed modifications to the plan. The addendum covered minor typographical editing and organizational refinements, insertion of an additional explanation to clarify date of preparation and status relevant to the complete plan document, revision of the map and legend on page 87 to reflect projects that have been accomplished, to delete properties from inventory which are not available for public motel and office space, to add new development policy on page 92, to reflect suggestions by the Board of County Commissioners to expand the redevelopment area to include all County holdings as part of the government center designation, to revise and relocate the land use and redevelopment plan map following page 92 to correspond with the list of Priority I Action 1.
