Marlow, Board Member Michelle Ramirez, Board Member Kristin Langley, Vice Chair Jennifer Wood, and Board Member Jason Hood Absent 1 - Board Member Lisa Tuttle Also Present - Jim Halios — Planning and Project Manager, Patricia O. Sullivan - Board Reporter 1. Call To Order The Chair called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. at the Main Library. To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order. 2. Approval of Minutes 2.1 Approval of Minutes Approve Parks and Recreation meeting minutes from October 23, 2018 Member Langley moved to approve the minutes of the October 23, 2018 Parks & Recreation Board meeting as submitted in written summation. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 3. Citizens to be Heard Regarding Items Not on the Agenda: None. 4. New Business Items 4.1 Review Parks & Recreation projects update In response to questions, Planning and Project Manager Jim Halios said Engineering was applying for federal and state grants to alleviate clogging of the waterways at Coopers Point, the size of the project will depend on funding. Four additional tennis courts will be constructed at the McMullen Tennis Complex, funds were insufficient to upgrade the clubhouse. Lighting will be installed at the Morningside and McMullen tennis courts under a single contract. Due to stormwater issues at the Long Center multiuse fields, a portion of the fields will be redesigned to mitigate stormwater and add geo tech parking spaces, the fields were not regulation size for soccer or football. Funding to upgrade the Coachman Ridge Park was limited, plans were to add a basketball half court next year. When the County replaces the narrow bridge on Old Coachman Road, it will replace the nearby pedestrian bridge. No land acquisitions were proposed. Page 2 City of Clearwater Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes January 22, 2019 Re the public art project at the Momingside Recreation Center, it was reported the original committee met for several hours with artist Guy Kempner and identified several locations for the public art. Mr. Kempner will return in 4 to 6 weeks with concepts for presentation to the committee and City. 4.2 Review Parks & Recreation Council Items 4.3 Election of Officers Member Langley moved to reappoint Mark Rodriguez as Chair and appoint Jennifer Christou -Wood as Vice Chair. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 5. Old Business Item: None 6. Director's Report Mr. Halios introduced the new board liaison, Mike Lavery. 7. Board Members to be Heard In response to Member Langley's concerns re standing water in the del Oro Park swales, Mr. Halios will report on project efforts to upgrade the swales. 8.
