City 1�anager Hendxix reported �hat tuere was �32,000.00 in
the Sinking Fund for Bond retirement and thaz 1ega1 notice was being
run in the Bond Buyer callin� far �anders returnable July 6, 1942.
It appeared thaL the Stete Ec County had ab�ted the taxes on
Zot 9, Block 5 Gould & Ewing, 2nd 11ddn. ior the year 1940; being
the pro��erty o� �lossie 51T. Iriorri•s. �Zr. E. B. Cas�er, J'r, reported
to the �ommission that it was his understanding that the City haa
protui�ed t� abate the City Ta,Yes for tne year 19L�0. r.2ov��d by
�r. Lorve, seconded by n4r. stou�amire and carried that the 1941
Taxes amouttting to �1�0.72 on Lot 9, B1ock $ Guuld & Ewin� , 2nd
Addn. be abated instead of the 19�:0 Taxes as taxes for this year had
been sold at the tax sale to outside parties.

of � w1,000.00 Sewer Bonds as ordered by the City Commi.ssion.
City n'ianager Hendrix said, that Tdlr. John Chestnut, T�ember
of the Board of �ounty Comnissionexs had inquired of. him �vhether the
C�:ty would be .villing to deed to the 8ount3r the lot immediately east
of the county xeal�th Unit property on East Qleveland Street being
Lot !�, Clearwater �ieights. It appea�sd that �he County would use
tl.e lot to erect an alzdi�ox°ium on. Dioved by I�ir. Lotve, seconded
by I�Zr� '�. C. Smith r�nd carried unanimously that I�ot 1�, �learwater
Heights Subclivision to be deed2d to the County oi' PinelTas as a gift.

ior st�ying within their budget i.n as mucli as a new car had to be
bou�h.t w�ich had not been anticipated,
City Attorney Ralph Kich�rds reported that he had co�raunica�l;ed
with Governox Holland relative to an3T Sta�e set up fbr the handling
of Police Pension Benei'its and that had been informsd that there 1�1as
a Board of five meinbers all appointed b5T the Covernor to handle the
matter. Mr. Richards s�id that sornetims in the near fut�re he would
be able no douU�t to give the particulars of the s�a•te set up.

could find out the State plan for handling Police retirenents had not
statted to operate.
The question of closing hours Por liquor establishm.ents was
disensse� and tue Cit y Attorney was requested to check o�er'our present
Ordinance, to see if the same included places selling beer and wine.
�fayor Seavy su�ested that the City Comcuission wait to see iihat xules the
U. S. Government would set before possibly ma�in� an amendment to the
present ordinance. Mr, 0. C. Loeffler and IvSr. A. H. Collins, liquor
dealers m8 Clearwater diseussed with the City closing hours of pleces
selling liquor, beer and wine.
City Manager Hendria reported that the Ci�y was burning a
considerable amaunt oP its own gas tar now in the making oP gas due to
limited storage Yacilities and inability to use the gas tar ior street
purposes due to government restrictions. Mayor Seavy sugges�ed that the
City Manager searure approval if possible of the purchase oi much needed
smoke stack sections.
