The City Cammission oP the City oP Clearwater met
in a Special � Meeting at i;he City Hall at 8;00
o�clock P. M,9 Aprit 11, 1939, with the f'ollowing
members present: �

Absent, due to illness: TN. W. Peeler
�+Tr. Baker nominated Mr. Burnice Hamilton �to take
the �lace on the Civil Service Board made vacant by the
rssignation of Mr. Leon Abbett. No further nominations
were made and Mr. Hamilton was duly appointed.
The �o�mission discussed the cost of recording
satis�actions oY improvement liens and cancellationa
oP ta�c certificates and deeided to make a c�arge oP
� 1.50 on each lisn or tax certificate requiring
satisfaction or cancellation oi recurd.
The City Manager was instructed to write Mr,
�ohn McDonald, Brooklyn. Baseball Club, of Brooklyn,
Ne�v York, concerning renewal o� contract zvith the
Brooklyn Baseball Club Yor several years in �he futura.
The Ci,ty ��anager was also in3tructed to obtain
bids on trucks.
There being no Purther business, the meeting

1;Rr. Roy Kingston addressed the Commission with
reference to the City conde�ning right-of-�vs� across
his property Por street purposes. He offered to se11
the City �is entire property for � 3Q,000.00, payable
, � 3,000.00 per year; said offer to hold good until
J'uly I, 1939. He also asked that the City extend
Lake Street to the Gulf t� Bay Boulevard.

meeting in Jacksohville and invited members of the

A�enue presented a petitio� vvith 42 signatures objecting
to a fish house being operated on North Fort Harrison
Avenue. After considerable discussion from ather property
owners of the sam.e neig�borhood, action was de�erred until

Mr. S. W. Til�.is offcred the City a 1934 Model
V-8 Ford in settlement of taxes and assessments in
amount �f $$ 312.33. The offer was Peferred to the
City Manager and City Clerk. �
An offer'of � 50.00 in settlement of taxes an
certain lots in Seystone 112anor. by 1V'ss Clilliarr► G.
Gibson wa� declined.
Mr. I,eo f3utler reported on �Vater Well # 13,
which has a pumg in bad condition. Pdoved by Mr.
Grice, second�d bg Mr. Peeler and unanimou�ly
carried that the Ci�y N'ianager be instructed to buy
a new pixmp at a cost of � 976.38.

The City Manager was instructed to purchase a
� new automobile for the Police Department from Thayer
Pdotor Compan.yt who was the lowest bidder.
The City I�anager opened bids on trucks. Th�per
l�dotor Company was the lowest biddler. Moved by Mr. Peeler,
seeonded by rdr. GriGe and unan3mously �arried that the
City tdanager be instructed to Furchase three trucks at
the lowest bid price oY � 2,1?4.46.
Moved bg Mr. Pee�,er, seconded bp Mr. t�empsey and
unan.imously carried that each Policeman be allowed one
day per week off duty.
