3. New Business Items
3.1 Approve the Alternate Sculpture for Sculpture 360.
Special Events & Public Art Specialist Madai Gutierrez reported the
sculpture, Family of Hearts by Clayton Swartz, chosen for Sculpture360
Season 9, had been sold. Twelve sculptures originally were submitted for
consideration. She presented a photograph of Petite Passe by Terrence
Karpowicz, chosen by the Selection Committee as the alternate sculpture.
If approved, it would be installed on the concrete pad on the 600 block of
Cleveland Street during the 2nd week in January. Petite Passe,
constructed to withstand hurricane strength winds, required only dusting
for maintenance.
Member Seiler moved to recommend approval of Petite Passe by
Terrence Karpowicz for installation on the 600 block of Cleveland
Street for Sculpture360 Season 9. The motion was duly seconded and
carried unanimously.
4. Old Business Item

Ms. Gutierrez said the City had ordered the Morningside Recreation Center
windows to be tinted prior to the selection of Public Art. Artist Guy Kemper
will visit the site in January to determine a new project.
Discussion ensued with comments the City had specified tinted glass in
the construction plan specifications but it was not known when the
specifications should have been changed and concern was expressed
