Goudeau City Clerk Mary K. “Sue” Diana Assistant City Clerk Absent: Ed Hooper Vice-Mayor/Commissioner The Mayor called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon at City Hall. The purpose of the meeting was to canvass the returns from the March 9, 1999 election. The City Clerk presented three certificates of testing of the automatic tabulating equipment dated as follows: March 4, 1999 - 9:09 a.m. March 9, 1999 - 9:11 a.m. March 9, 1999 - 9:38 p.m. Commissioner Johnson moved to accept the three certificates of testing. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. The City Clerk presented the tabulations of votes as follows: Absentee Ballot Report: Total Absentee Ballots received 1,076 Questionable Ballots: 30 No Signature 7 No Witness 9 No Witness Address 10 Signature Variation 3 Returned 2 Ballots (one for 1 primary and 1 for Clearwater) Total Absentee Ballots rejected as invalid 24 Total Absentee Ballots accepted 1,052 (1 empty envelope) Total Absentee Ballots tabulated 1,051 Total Precinct (50) and Absentee Ballot Tabulation: A. Questions 5 and 13 were rejected by the voters. Total ballots cast 15,607 Total Registered Voters 69,639 22.50% Commissioner Clark moved to accept the City Clerk’s report and declare the results as reported official. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Commissioner Johnson moved to declare Brian Aungst elected to Commission Seat #1. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Commissioner Clark moved to declare Ed Hart elected to Commission Seat #2. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Commissioner Johnson moved to declare Ed Hooper re-elected to Commission Seat #3. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Commissioner Clark moved to accept Referendum Questions 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 approved. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. City Clerk Cyndie Goudeau thanked Assistant City Clerk Sue Diana for doing an exemplary job in coordinating the election. She extended congratulations to those elected. Commissioner Johnson expressed his appreciation in particpating in the activities at the Election Service Center on election night. The meeting adjourned at 12:05 p.m.
