than 1,100 hot dogs and 1,700 soft drinks were served. Attendees offered positive comments.
She said scheduling the event biannually increased interest and attracted a large crowd. In
response to a comment, she said staff did not know in advance which runway would be used for
event plane rides and the resulting traffic pattern change was last minute. The flight school was
instructed to make as many announcements as possible re the change.
Discussion ensued with concern expressed that no real notification re the change had occurred
in advance. It recommended that future changes be broadcast on the AWOS (Automated
Weather Observing System) to notify transients. Ms. Cooper said notice would be issued prior
to the next Open House.
6.2. Coyotes
Ms. Cooper said most coyote activity at the Airpark occurred in winter. Mr. MacDonald said the
trapper now was catching other animals in the coyote traps, which would be pulled on Thursday.
Coyote activity will be reevaluated next winter.
6.3. JACIP Review
Mr. Morris reviewed upcoming JACIP (Joint Automated Capital Improvement Program) projects
and discussed planned security system upgrades. It was important to replace the terminal
building in the next few years.
