AGREEMENT TO CONDUCT ALL ITS SPRING TRAININGA G R E E M E N T
THIS AGENT, made and entered into this 94. day
of March, A.D. 1947, by and between the CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, a Municipal Corporation located in Pinellas County,
Florida, hereinafter called the City, and the PHILADELPHIA NATIONAL
LEAGUE BASEBALL CLUB, hereinafter called the Club.
WITNESSETH, that for and in consideration of the sum
of One ( i O) Dollar paid by each Party to the Other, and „the
faithful performance of the covenants herein 'contained, the
parties mutually contract and agree as follows:
1. The Club shall conduct all its annual Spring train -
ing in the City of Clearwater for the years 1947 to 1956, both
inclusive, and play all home Spring exhibition games, using its
first string and best team therein, in said City in the years
specified.
2. The City shall grant the Club the exclusive use
of the Municipal baseball park with all pertinent facilities,
during the said training seasons and shall maintain the same in a
'satisfactory manner, reserving the use of said park and facilities
to the City for all parts of each year when the same shall not
be required by the Club.
3. The City shall imaintain the bleachers and grand -
tand located in said park in a proper state of repair and hereby
releases and holds the Club harmless from all liability arising
out of any negligence on the part ofthe City in connection with
such maintenance. -i
4. The Club shall expend the sum not to exceed Six
Thousand (8,.000400) Dollars required for the installation of a
sprinkler system and for other improvements in the field, in a
manner mutually satisfactory to both parties.
5. The City shall pay to the Club a maximum sum of
Five Hundred (500.00) Dollars per year or ten per cent of the
amount expended if it be less than five thousand 05,000.00)
Dollars, in each and every year in which

the Club shall train in the City, as provided herein, beginning
January 1, 1948.
6, The Club shall receive all revenues from admissions
and concessions at the Park during each training season it shall
use the same under this contract.
7. This Agreement shall be binding upon the respective
successors and assigns of the parties.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties hereto set •their hands
