2. Framing detail, Roof to Wall connector: Detail in question indicates uplift loads for
Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF) and the structural framing components utilized for the Varsity
Estates homes are all Southern Yellow Pine (SYP). The MTS12 used in conjunction
with SYP framing members provides a max. 1000# of uplift resistance per the
manufacturers' literature.
3. Diaphragm ceiling blocking at vaulted ceiling ridge areas shall be provided at each side
of ridge for attachment of gypsum board diaphragm component. U
4. LVL Beam: The beam in question is at the rear of the house and originally designed as `~
a 16" deep beam. The 12" deep beam installed is an acceptable substitution based on
the engineering calculations provided for review.
