01/26/1994 MUNICIPAL CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD January 26, 1994 Members present: Louise C. Riley, Vice-Chair Dennis Henegar E.J. Robinson Peg Rogers Absent: Stephen D. Legters, Recording Secretary In order to provide continuity for research, the items will be listed in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order. The meeting was called to order by Member Riley at 3:00 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room in City Hall. She outlined the procedures and advised any aggrieved party may appeal a final administrative order of the Municipal Code Enforcement Board to the Circuit Court of Pinellas County. Any such appeal must be filed within thirty (30) days of the execution of the order to be appealed. She noted that Florida Statute 286.0105 requires any party appealing a decision of this Board to have a record of the proceedings to support such an appeal. She stated all proceedings will be conducted in a calm an civil manner. Those individuals who do not conduct themselves in such a manner will be asked to leave, and if necessary, will be escorted from the meeting room. Case No. 03-94 Arthur & Angeliky Alimonos Poseidon Restaurant & Lounge 25822 N US 19 (Land Development Code - Signs) Continued from 1/12/94 In a memo dated January 18, 1994, Sign Inspector Don Bohr withdrew Case No. 03-94, as the violation was corrected prior to the public hearing. Case No. 06-94 Carl Tilley, R.A. c/o Carl Tilley, Inc 1891 Drew St (Land Development Code - Signs) Continued from 1/12/94 In a memo dated January 26, 1994, Inspection Specialist Geri Doherty stated a sign variance application has been filed for this case and is scheduled to be heard in March. She requested Case No. 06-94 be continued to the meeting of March 23, 1994. Member Robinson moved to continue Case No. 06-94 to March 23, 1994. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Case No. 07-94 St. Cecelia Catholic Church - Cathy Kaiser 820 Jasmine Way (Life Safety Code) In a memo dated January 24, 1994, Fire Inspector Karl Whittleton withdrew Case No. 07-94, as the violation was corrected prior to the public hearing. OTHER BOARD ACTION / DISCUSSION Case No. 02-94 Speros & Joan Frangedis 437 S Gulfview Blvd (Land Development Code) Affidavit of Compliance Member Henegar moved, concerning Case No. 02-94, to accept the affidavit of compliance. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Discussion ensued regarding whether or not it will be necessary to have a uniformed police officer present at every meeting in the future. Attorney Salzman indicated Lt. Kronschnabl is a fully trained police officer and would be capable of handling the situation if a meeting became unruly. MINUTES Meetings of October 27, November 10 and December 8, 1993 Member Robinson moved to approve the minutes of October 27, November 10 and December 8, 1993, in accordance with copies submitted to each board member in writing.
