06/11/2015 CIVIL SERVICE RGARD CITY OF CLEARWATER June 11,2015 Present: C.W. Henley Chair Rosemary McCormick Board Member Dawn Walser Board Member Catherine Adams Board Member Also Present: Joseph Roseto Human Resources Director LaShante Keys Human Resources Manager Christine Schlerf Senior Human Resources Analyst Chair Henley called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. at the Municipal Services Building.. To provide continuity for research,items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order. ITEM#2-Approval of Minutes-- The minutes of August 14,2014; were approved as submitted. ITEM#3-Director's Repgrts=Mlchael Jackson Termination 6ppeal Joseph Roseto, Human Resources Director, advised the Board that the Human Resources staff was looking at revising the Civil Service Rules and that he would be bringing them forth to discuss. Basically the changes are administrative in nature. LaShante Keys, Human Resources Manager, provided overview of the Equity Services role within the City and what impacts the Diversity Council has had in getting a Strategic Plan in place. ITEM#4-Old Business-None Joseph Roseto, Human Resources Director,advised the Board that there are three(3)cases in some stage of the appeal process: 1) Termination-employee failed drug test 2) Termination- employee has received a settlement from another agency and was working for the City in the same capacity/position. 3) Termination-management termination due to performance related issues.
