Thank you Matt Jackson Senior Planner -----Original Message----- From: Peter Kohut \[mailto:peterkohut@outlook.com\] Sent: Monday, September 14, 2015 3:20 PM To: Jackson, Matthew Subject: Re: FLD2015-06023 - Clearwater Marine Aquarium Mr. Jackson, Please pass this message to the members of the Community Development Board. Board Members, Further expansion of the CMA without addressing the problem of insufficient parking, is not in the best interest of those who live on Island Estates. 1 The use of the church green space as a parking lot was never meant to be permanent. Stormwater, noise, air emissions, are all real concerns. They must be controlled. The vacant lot on Island Way was also never meant to be permanent. The CMA expansion is exciting, but I question whether it fits within their Mission Statement. If there is a solution to the parking, let's make this the priority before we expand, needing yet more parking. Together we can work through these problems, and move forward as a Waterfront Residential and Shopping Community. Best Wishes, Peter P. In 2011 staff accepted the rationale that the ITE Manual does not include an aquarium land use category; therefore alternate, similar comparables were sought out within the ITE Manual for the proposed use/elements. Based upon discussions with the applicant as well as the City's Traffic Engineering staff, the principal aquarium building was found to be most consistent with the Museum land use (1.32 spaces per 1,000 square feet) and the outdoor stadium/tank area was found to be most consistent with the Live Theater land use (1 space per three seats). Staff accepted this determination as well for the current proposal. Also, staff expects that as the interest in the Dolphin Tale movies decreases, the off-site parking demand will also decrease. > > "Determined by the community development coordinator based on the specific use and/or ITE (Institute of Transportation Engineers) Manual standards" > > Matt Jackson > Senior Planner > > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Peter Kohut \[mailto:peterkohut@outlook.com\] > Sent: Monday, September 14, 2015 1:18 PM > To: Jackson, Matthew > Subject: Re: FLD2015-06023 - Clearwater Marine Aquarium > > Sorry to keep bothering you.....in regard to parking, what does it say? > > Sent from my iPhone > >> On Sep 14, 2015, at 1:09 PM, Matthew.Jackson@MyClearwater.com wrote: >> >> Great and my pleasure. >> >> Matt Jackson >> Senior Planner >> >> >> >> >> -----Original Message----- 2 >> From: Peter Kohut \[mailto:peterkohut@outlook.com\] >> Sent: Monday, September 14, 2015 1:08 PM >> To: Jackson, Matthew >> Subject: Re: FLD2015-06023 - Clearwater Marine Aquarium >> >> That makes sense.
