Newscaster Charley Belcher called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Countryside Recreation Center.
To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order.
The Police, Fire, Parks & Recreation, and Public Works departments presented information on department activities, programs, and projects. Residents interested in participating in
the community policing advisory board were encouraged to contact the Police Department. Construction project phases, goals, benefits, funding sources, and amenities also were reviewed.
In response to audience questions, staff indicated it is determined sufficient water sources exist before new construction is approved; studies indicate City wells do not cause sinkholes;
City water quality meets and exceeds all standards; water conservation is encouraged; and ammonia has been added to the water supply since May. Staff also reviewed upgrades to the roundabout,
downtown development plans, and downtown development improvements
It was requested a sign be posted to warn northbound Belcher Road traffic to use the left lanes before the road splits at Countryside Boulevard. Staff will discuss the issue with the
County. It was suggested the green traffic signal on Village Way be lengthened to permit more traffic to turn left onto Enterprise. It was requested additional soccer fields be constructed.
The meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
