Sullivan Human Resources Director Board Reporter The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall. To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order. 2 - Approval of Minutes: November 11, 2006 Member Petersen moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of November 11,2006, as submitted in written summation to each board member. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 3 - Emplovees to be Heard - None. 4 - Action Items: a. Review and Action on Employee Requests for Regular Pensions: 1. Robert Cruickshank, Fire 2. Edward Lee, Police 3. Candace K. McDaniel, Library 4. Philip Seissian, Public Services Member Schmalzbauer moved to approve the requests for regular pensions for Robert Cruickshank, Edward Lee, Candace K. McDaniel, and Philip Seissian. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Pension Advisory 2006-12-14 1 . . . b. Review and Action on Employee Requests to Vest Pensions: 1. Erik C. Stokholm, Solid Waste Erik C. Stokholm, Solid Waste, has resigned his position after being employed by the City for more than 25 years. He will qualify for his pension beginning May 1, 2015. 2. Alicia H. Farrell, Parks & Recreation Alicia H. Farrell, Parks & Recreation, has resigned her position after being employed by the City for more than 11 years. She will qualify for her reduced pension beginning December 1, 2017. Member Petersen moved to approve the requests by Erik C. Stokholm and Alicia H. Farrell to vest their pensions. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. c. Caprice Mueller originally hired as part-time on July 22, 2006; changed to full-time and pension eligible as of November 12, 2006. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Pension Advisory 2006-12-14 2 . 5 - Pendinq/New Business a. Vince Kirkland - Set Hearing for Job-connected Disability Pension. Member Jensen moved to schedule the hearing for the job-connected disability pension request by Vince Kirkland on January 11,2007. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. In response to a question, Human Resources Director Joe Roseto said the City had used Frank K. Kriz, Jr. M.D. previously for IMEs (Independent Medical Exams). The City has contacted Mr. Kirkland's attorney, indicating it will contest the application. 6 - Director's Report: PAC (Pension Advisory Committee) members will receive invitations to the Pension Attorney's annual conference, scheduled in Ft. Lauderdale during the first week of March 2007. Funds are budgeted for members' attendance. Mr. Roseto requested those planning to attend to contact his office. Mr. Roseto reported the City had received a demand to bargain pension issues with the Fraternal Order of Police. A meeting is scheduled for December 22, 2006. The PAC will review any contemplated changes. . It was requested that Mr. Roseto contact the Legal Department to see if the PAC is able to meet in private session, as three PAC members make up the majority of the City Council. 7 - Committee Members to be Heard Members wished everyone Happy Holidays. Member Jensen reminded PAC members of their annual education requirement and requested that staff organize a training session. Chair Hiqhtower encouraged PAC members to attend all scheduled meetings and requested that staff distribute another copy of next year's calendar.
