To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order. 2 - Approval of Minutes Member Hibbard moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of November 4, 2004, as submitted in written summation to each board member. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 3 - Emplovees to be Heard - None. 4- Action Item a. Review and Action on Employee Requests for Regular Pensions: 1. Rosalie Backus, Customer Service 2. Neil Sickler, Public Utilities Member Schmalzbauer moved to approve the requests for regular pensions for Rosalie Backus and Neil Sickler. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. b. Approval of New Hires as Plan Members: As of November 23,2004, the City had 1797.14 FTEs out of 1895.4 budgeted positions. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 5 - Pendina/New Business a. James Albright Human Resources Director Joe Roseto reported that Mr. Albright has requested a continuance. Member Hamilton moved to continue James Albright's case to January 13, 2005. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. b. Ronnie White Mr. Roseto requested continuing Ronnie White's case, as staff has been unable to contact Mr. White's attorney. Written notification that the case would be continued to January 13, 2005, was mailed to Mr. White. Mr. White's attorney also was provided copies of individual video surveillance tapes discussed at the November PAC (Pension Advisory Committee) meeting. PAC members also were provided copies of the tapes. None of the tapes was edited. Member Hamilton moved to continue Ronnie White's case to a date uncertain. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Pension Advisory 2004-12-09 2 . 6 - Director's Report Mr. Roseto said copies of the 2002 Cost Analysis of Pension Plan Changes Under Consideration and proposed Pension Plan Changes dated May 2002 have been distributed. He suggested scheduling a meeting of the PAC, Pension Trustees, PAC Attorney, and union representatives to review the information. Consensus was for staff to schedule a meeting date, which may require a full day, In response to a question, Mr. Roseto said no cost analyses have been done since 2002. Staff will research cities similar in size to Clearwater and provide a comparison of employee pension plans. 7 - Committee Members to be Heard Member Petersen and Member Schmalzbauer wished everyone Happy Holidays. 8 - Adiournment Member Hibbard moved to adjourn.
