RESOLUTION TO APPOINT ABIGAIL APPLETON AS HUMANE OFFICER
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Humane Society of Pinellas, Inc. is a society duly incorporated and
organized under the laws ofthe State of Florida for the prevention of cruelty to animals within the
meaning of Section 828.03, Florida Statutes and:
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Humane Society of Pinellas, Inc. to appoint ABIGAIL
APPLETON as Humane Officer, pursuant to Chapter 828, Florida Statutes, and
WHEREAS, the Humane Society of Pin ell as, Inc. exists and works in Clearwater, Florida,
and
WHEREAS, Section 828.03, Florida Statutes, reqmres mayoral approval of such
appointment, and
WHEREAS, Abigail Appleton has completed 40 hours of training as a Certified Animal
Control Officer as required by Florida Statute 828.27.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Humane Society of Pinellas, Inc. that
Abigail Appleton be, and hereby is, appointed and designated as its agent for purposes of
investigating violations of any of the provisions of Chapter 828, Florida Statutes, and any other law
of the state which relates to the cruelty to animals.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mayor Frank V. Hibbard of Clearwater, Florida, be and
hereby is, requested to approve and render effective the appointment hereby made in accordance with
the provisions of Section 828.03, Florida Statutes.
