Mr. Chin informally called the meeting to order at 8: I 5 a.m. at Municipal Services Building
Parks & Recreation Conference Room.
To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that
order.
#2 Approval of Minutes of December 1. 2004 - No quorum.
#3 Old Business -
a. New City Projects (CIP Report) - Ms. Avrin inquired about Crest Lake Park improvements regarding
the cul-de-sac. Engineering looked at developing drawings for a cul-de-sac that would help to redirect
traffic south of Glenwood A venue and along Gulf to Bay Boulevard. A citizen meeting was held on
June 28 with the Skycrest Homeowner Association to discuss concerns. Due to homeowners
concerns, and need to develop a master plan, this project has been placed on hold.
b. Lake Belleview/Ross Norton Projects - Mr. Chin gave a brief overview of the Plan Proposals of Ed
Wright, Plumb House, Ross Norton and Aquatic Complex, including Lake Belleview's Stormwater
improvement project. Mr. Chin will coordinate a tour of these facilities in lieu of a meeting.
c. Public/Private Groups - Mr. Chin received response from Parks & Recreation management regarding
the draft "Letter of Introduction" expressing the Beautification Committee's intent to create a
partnership with various community groups. Some concerns were expressed regarding the letter in
general. Mr. Kader stated the Beautification Committee is not housed in the Parks & Recreation
department, but rather they are an independent city board appointed by the Mayor and Council. Their
duties consist of becoming involved with city related projects and not private sector projects. Also,
many of the board minutes are easily obtainable on the Internet. Ms. Beall furnished step-by-step
procedures on how to use the City of Clearwater's website when searching for agendas and boards.
Mr. Chin explained how they could make much more of an impact in the community by utilizing their
status as a private citizen and attending public meetings on their own.
#4 New Business - none

.
Not on Agenda -
Ms. France inquired as to Mr. Murphree response to the design plans for the landscaping of the wide medians
between North Venus and North Keene Road and between South Venus and South Keene Road from Drew
Street and Gulf to Bay. Mr. Chin is working with Mr. Murphree and will report back to the Committee.
Ms. France asked why the Palm Trees along the ramps at U.S. Highway 19/Gulf to Bay Boulevard have been
removed. Ms. A vrin heard the removal was due to their deteriorating conditions and will be replaced at a later
date.
Ms. A vrin spoke with Kerry Fuller, the realtor for the property at the intersection at Chestnut Street and Court
Street. Ms. Fuller said that Don Fox was asking $1.8M for his property and that the city has agreed to sell the
rest of the parcel for $600,000. The size was approximately two acres.
#5 Adjournment - The meeting adjourned at 9:40 a.m.
