The meeting was called to order at 7:31 p.m. at the Clearwater Countryside Library.
Six citizens spoke requesting something be done regarding Northwood
Ridge Drive being used as a cut through from Curlew Road to Countryside Blvd. They cited problems with speeding, litter and vandalism. It was requested that the access to Curlew Road
be closed.
One citizen requested that possible building code violations be investigated at 1132 Sunnydale Dr. The complaint is that two in-law suites have been added to the structure, a foundation
for a third has been laid and the owner is renting out the suites.
One citizen spoke requesting additional police enforcement in the North Greenwood area due to the increase in crack cocaine and other related crimes.
It was suggested that the youth advisory group, which had been recommended during the campaign process, be implemented.
Three citizens spoke regarding complaints of an oversized sign being used by the Rutenberg Corp. to advertise various developments. The sign is in front of the Imperial Pines Condos.
Concerns were also expressed regarding building codes not being followed in the construction of the condominiums. A complaint was also lodged that Bishops Creek walls are collapsing.
One citizen reported that the sidewalk adjacent to the Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Development has ruptured due to heavy trucks crossing it and requested that it be investigated.
A discussion ensued regarding whether or not the triple surface treatment for streets which results in a rough texture was safer than asphalt, although the triple surface treatment
is no longer being used.
One citizen complimented the Commission for their meetings and also spoke in support of an increased budget for library books.
