08/15/2005 TRUSTEES OF THE EMPLOYEES' PENSION FUND MEETING MINUTES CITY OF CLEARWATER August 15, 2005 Present: Frank Hibbard Chair William C. Goudeau City Clerk Brenda Moses Board Reporter The Chair called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. at City Hall. To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order. Approval of Minutes: Trustee Petersen moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of July 18, 2005, as recorded and submitted in written summation by the City Clerk to each Trustee. The motioncarried was duly seconded and unanimously. Pension Trustees Items 1. Accept the employees listed into membership in the City of Clearwater's Employees' Pension Plan: Eddie Stephens, Deron Kauble, Leon Brown, Glen Girard, Judith Clarizio, Jeremy Williams, Julie Duffy, Janice Overby, Tina Cramer, Eric Wahlbeck, Jeffrey Howard, Virginia Novotny, Kevin Blair, Lisa Hayes, Terrance Woulard, Tara Kivett, Glen Altomare II, and Mary Violette Altman. The Pension Advisory Committee recommended that these employees be accepted into membership in the City of Clearwater's Employees' Pension Plan. Trustee Doran moved to accept the recommendation of the Pension Advisory motioncarried Committee. The was duly seconded and unanimously. Pension Trustees 2005-08-15 1 . 2. Request that Marie Orsello. Economic Development Department Lowell Nickerson. Fire Department. and James Fogarty. Fire Department. be qranted reQular pensions under Section(s) 2.393 and 2.397 of the Employees' Pension Plan as approved by the Pension Advisory Committee. Marie Orsello, Accounting Technician, Economic Development Department, was employed by the City on January 9, 1989, and her pension service credit is effective on that date. Her pension wili be effe(;tive August 1, 2005. Based on an average salary of approximately $34,056 per year over the past five years, the formula for computing regular pensions, and Ms. Orsello's selection of the Joint & Survivor Annuity, this pension will approximate $15,510 annually. Lowell Nickerson, Firefighter Driver/Operator, Fire Department, was employed by the City on August 6, 1989, and his pension service credit is effective on that date. His pension will be effective July 1, 2005. Based on an average salary of approximately $55,523 per year over the past five years, the formuiaior computing regular pensions, and Mr. Nickerson's selection of the 50% Joint & Survivor Annuity, this pension will approximate $40,400 annually. James Fogarty, Assistant Fire Chief/EMS, Fire Department, was employed by the City on August 6, 1989, and his pension service credit is effective on that date. His pension will be effective July 1,2005. Based on an average salary of approximately $71,081 per year over the past five years, the formula for computing regular pensions, and Mr. Nickerson's selection of the 50% Joint & Survivor Annuity, this pension will approximate $52,158 annually. . Trustee Hamilton moved that Marie Orsello, Lowell Nickerson, and James Fogarty be granted regular pensions under Section(s) 2.393 and 2.397 of the Employees' Pension Plan as approved by the Pension Advisory Committee.
