07/18/2005 . . . TRUSTEES OF THE EMPLOYEES' PENSION FUND MEETING MINUTES CITY OF CLEARWATER July 18, 2005 Present: Frank Hibbard William C. Horne, II Garry Brumback Pamela K. Akin Cynthia E. Goudeau Patricia O. Sullivan The Chair called the meeting to order at 11 :26 a.m. at City Hall. To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order. Approval of Minutes: Trustee Doran moved to approve the minutes of the June 13, 2005, regular meeting, and June 2,2005, special meeting as recorded and submitted in written summation by the City Clerk to each Trustee. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Pension Trustees Items 1. Accept the employees listed into membership in the City of Clearwater's Employees' Pension Plan: Edward Cone, Linda Hiryak, Harvey Kline, Mario Thornton, Daniel McGuinness, Robert Tefft, Ricky Clure, Emanuel Dudley, and Randy Gonzalez The Pension Advisory Committee recommended that these employees be accepted into membership in the City of Clearwater's Employees' Pension Plan. Trustee Petersen moved to accept the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 2 - Daniel Wolf. Public Utilities Department. be aranted a reaular pension under Section(s) 2.393 and 2.397 of the Employees' Pension Plan as approved by the Pension Advisorv Committee. Daniel Wolf, Utilities Mechanic, Public Utilities Department, was employed by the City on September 20,1976, and his pension service credit is effective on that date. His pension will be effective June 1, 2005. Based on an average salary of approximately $42,222 per year over Pension Trustees 2005-07-18 1 . the past five years, the formula for computing regular pensions, and Mr. Wolf's selection of the 10-Year Certain and Life Annuity, this pension will approximate $35,485 annually. This pension was approved by the Pension Advisory Committee on June 9, 2005. Section 2.393(p) provides for normal retirement eligibility when a participant has reached age 55 and completed twenty years of credited service, has completed thirty years of credited service, or has reached age 65 and completed ten years of credited service. Mr. Wolf qualifies under the age 55 and twenty years of service criteria. Trustee Hamilton moved that Daniel Wolf, Public Utilities Department, be granted a regular pension under Section(s) 2.393 and 2.397 of the Employees' Pension Plan as approved by the Pension Advisory Committee. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Other Business: - None.
