12/13/2004 TRUSTEES OF THE EMPLOYEES' PENSION FUND MEETING CITY OF CLEARWATER December 13, 2004 Present: Brian Aungst Chair Frank Hibbard Trustee Hoyt Hamilton Trustee William C. Sullivan Board Reporter The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:29 p.m. at City Hall. To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order. Approval of Minutes: Trustee Hibbard moved to approve the minutes of the November 15, 2004, meeting, as motion recorded and submitted in written summation by the City Clerk to each Trustee. The carried was duly seconded and unanimously. Pension Trustees Items 1. Accept the employees listed below into membership in the City of Clearwater's Employees' Pension Plan: Frank Milanesi, Sandra Doria, Daniel O’Brien, John Hunter, Derek Saunier, Ian Cameron, Barry Balmer, Chad McIntyre, Todd Turpack, Michael Williams, Dzavit Lika, George Phillips, Eric Eisenhardt, Shannon Hunt, Bruce Hayes, Dallas, Hall, and Toker Gonzalez. The Pension Advisory Committee recommended that these employees be accepted into membership in the City of Clearwater's Employees' Pension Plan. Trustee Jonson moved to accept the recommendation of the Pension Advisory motioncarried Committee. The was duly seconded and unanimously. Pension Trustees 2004-12-13 1 . . . 2. Scott Wilson. Police Department. be aranted a reaular pension under Section(s) 2.393 and 2.397 of the Emplovees' Pension Plan as approved bv the Pension Advisory Committee. Scott Wilson, Police Officer, Police Department, was employed by the City on October 29, 1983, and his pension service credit is effective on that date. His pension will be effective November 1, 2004. Based on an average salary of approximately $58,648 per year over the past five years, the formula for computing regular pensions, and Mr. Wilson's selection of the 75% Joint & Survivor Annuity, this pension will approximate $33,967 annually. This pension was approved by the Pension Advisory Committee on November 4, 2004. Section 2.393 provides for normal retirement eligibility when a participant has completed twenty years of credited service in a type of employment described as "hazardous duty" and further defines service as a Police Officer as meeting the hazardous duty criteria. Mr. Wilson qualifies under the hazardous duty criteria. Trustee Petersen moved to grant a regular pension to Scott Wilson, Police Department, under Section{s) 2.393 and 2.397 of the Employees' Pension Plan as approved by the Pension Advisory Committee. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Other Business: Human Resources Director Joe Roseto reported the attorney for the Pension Plan had completed analysis of proposed changes to the Pension Plan. A Work Shop with the PAC (Pension Advisory Committee) and Pension Trustees will be scheduled in January for review.
