Sullivan Board Reporter The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall. To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order. 2 - Approval of Minutes Member Petersen moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of January 11, motion 2007, as submitted in written summation to each board member. The was duly carried seconded and unanimously. 4 – Employees to be Heard – None. 5 – Action Items: a. Review and Action on Employee Requests for Regular Pensions: 1. Larry D. Akins, Solid Waste 2. Bligh, Police Member Sarnoff moved to approve the requests for regular pensions for Larry D. Akins, Robert J. Willms, Joan Wright, Mark A. Whitman, Kenneth M. Schmitt, Willie A. Floyd, and motioncarried Kevin M. Bligh. The was duly seconded and unanimously. b. Review and Action on Employee Requests to Vest Pensions Pension Advisory 2007-02-08 1 1. Mahshid D. Arasteh, Engineering Mahshid D. Arasteh, Engineering, has resigned her position after being employed by the City for more than 10 years. She will qualify to receive her reduced pension beginning October 1, 2016. 2. Ann H. Scheffer, Library Ann H. Scheffer, Library, has resigned her position after being employed by the City for more than 14 years. She will qualify to receive her reduced pension beginning January 1, 2013. 3. Linda L. McPherson, Finance Linda L. McPherson, Finance, has resigned her position after being employed by the City for more than 10 years. She will qualify to receive her reduced pension beginning October 1, 2014. Member Petersen moved to approve the requests by Mahshid D. Arasteh, Ann H. motion Scheffer, and Linda L. McPherson to vest their pensions. The was duly seconded and carried unanimously. c. Justin Littleton originally was hired as temporary on October 30, 2006; changed to permanent full-time and pension eligible as of January 8, 2007 The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 5 - Pendinq/New Business a. Vince Kirkland - Job-connected Disability Hearing Human Resources Director Joe Roseto requested that this hearing be continued to March 8, 2007. Member Johnson moved to continue the job-connected disability hearing for Vince Kirkland to March 8, 2007. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 6 - Director's Report Mr. Roseto requested the PAC to schedule a job-connected disability hearing for Tyrone Booze on March 8, 2007. The hearing would be postponed if the Kirkland case is heard that day. Member Petersen moved to schedule a job-connected disability hearing for Tyrone Booze on March 8, 2007. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. . 7 - Committee Members to be Heard Member Sarnoff requested an explanation be distributed regarding Pension amendments to be considered by City residents at the March referendum. Mr. Roseto said future changes may result from the Pension Plan attorneys' rewrite of the Plan. The Plan's actuary is costing out proposals submitted by several unions. Some suggested changes may be bargainable. The next referendum is in March 2008.
