12/04/2000 TRUSTEES OF THE EMPLOYEES' PENSION FUND MEETING CITY OF CLEARWATER December 4, 2000 Present: Brian J. Aungst Chair J. B. Goudeau City Clerk Brenda Moses Board Reporter The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:10 a.m. at City Hall. ITEM #2 - Approval of Minutes: Trustee Johnson moved to approve the minutes of the November 13, 2000, meeting, as recorded and submitted in written summation by the City Clerk to each Trustee. The motioncarried was duly seconded and unanimously. ITEM #3 - Request for Acceptance into Membership: The Human Resources Administrator presented the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee to approve membership for the employees listed below: Hemlata Iyengar, William Stringfellow, Chase L. Vaccaro, Sherry Watkins, Jason Jones, Diane Luniewski, Sandy Warner, Kerri Spaulding, Christine Biermann, Kevin Klein, Carol Buck, John Haggart, William Higginbotham III, Jeffrey Smith, Lenshawn Price, Paul Mack, Alex Monte, Todd Archer, Peter Georgantas, Patrick Conrey, Paul Capo, Christopher Hoyne, Michael Hendry, Brian Miller, John Gozzi, Gail Rina, & Brent Hazzard Trustee Clark moved to accept the recommendation of the Pension Advisory motioncarried Committee. The was duly seconded and unanimously. ITEM #4 - Request for Pension: The Human Resources Administrator presented the recommendation of the Pension Helga Lanier, Gail-Patricia Greer, Richard D. Wilson, and Linda Advisory Committee that Kongaregular pensions be granted under Section(s) 2.393 and 2.397 of the Employees' Pension Plan. mpf1200 1 12/04/00 Helga Lanier was employed on December 15, 1980, and her pension service credit is effective on that date. Her pension will be effective January 1, 2001. Based on an average salary of approximately $41,865 per year over the past 5 years, the formula for computing regular pensions, and Ms. Lanier's selection of the 50% Joint & Survivor Annuity, this pension will approximate $24,112 annually. Gail-Patricia Greer was employed on October 6, 1980, and her pension service credit is effective on that date. Her pension will be effective February 1, 2001. Based on an average salary of approximately $36,766 per year over the past 5 years, the formula for computing regular pensions, and Ms. Greer's selection of the 100% Joint & Survivor Annuity, this pension will approximate $20,172 annually. Richard D. Wilson was employed on April 21, 1980, and his pension service credit is effective on that date. His pension will be effective November 1, 2000. Based on an average salary of approximately $60,556 per year over the past 5 years, the formula for computing regular pensions, and Mr. Wilson's selection of the 100% Joint & Survivor Annuity, this pension will approximate $33,755 annually. Linda F. Konga was employed on October 13, 1980, and her pension service credit is effective on that date. Her pension will be effective December 1, 2000. Based on an average salary of approximately $44,053 per year over the past 5 years, the formula for computing regular pensions, and Ms. Konga's selection of the Joint & Survivor Annuity, this pension will approximate $24,236 annually. These pensions were approved by the PAC on November 9, 2000. Section 2.393 (p) provides for normal retirement eligibility when a participant has reached age 55 and completed 20 years of credited service, has completed 30 years of credited service, or has reached age 65 and completed 10 years of credited service. Section 2.393 (p) also provides for normal retirement eligibility when a participant has completed 20 years of credited service in a type of employment described as “hazardous duty” and further specifically defines service as a Police Lieutenant and Police Officer as meeting the hazardous duty criteria. Ms. Lanier and Ms. Greer qualify under the age 55 and 20 years of service criteria and Mr. Wilson and Ms. Konga qualify under the hazardous duty criteria. Trustee Johnson moved to accept the recommendation of the Pension Advisory motioncarried Committee. The was duly seconded and unanimously. ITEM #5 - Other Business - None.
