Mr. Bob Hall regarding the mentioned City Ordinances concerning public littering, debris or
waste of any kind which may impairs the operations of city sewers and drainage.
#5 Old Business - None
#6 New Business - None
#7 Presentation - Mr. Chin invited Mr. Tim Kurtz, Landscape Architect back to speak about the "Beach by
Design" project. Beach by Design proposes to create an attractive beachfront known as "Beach Walk" by
shifting South Gulfview Boulevard to the west of its current location, where existing surface parking lots are
located. In doing so, this will create a walkway and drive with a wonderful view of the Beach and the Gulf of
Mexico and allows the City to make available 35 feet of the existing right of way to properties along eastern
South Gulfview Boulevard. There will be beautiful landscaping with parallel trees along the roadway and
Beach promenade, without obstructing beach views. Strategically placed sidewalks would provide business
and beach access to pedestrians.
Although the goal is to stay with the initial concept, some Engineering modifications have been made to
accommodate new FEMA velocity requirements, new development sites, and parking issues. As the project
approached 60%, Mr. Kurtz will apprise the Beautification Committee of updates to the plans.
