8599-14ORDINANCE NO. 8599 -14 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 30.060 CLEARWATER CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW THE CITY OR ITS PARKING VIOLATION PROCESSING SERVICE DESIGNEE THE ABILITY TO ELECTRONICALLY SEND THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAY SAFETY AND MOTOR VEHICLES DATA LISTING PERSONS OR ENTITIES THAT HAVE THREE OR MORE OUTSTANDING PARKING VIOLATIONS, INCLUDING VIOLATIONS OF FLORIDA STATUTE 316.1955, SO THAT THE CITY'S PARKING PENALTIES ORDINANCE IS CONSISTENT WITH FLORIDA STATUTE 316.1967(6); PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater, Florida, through its parking violation processing service designee wishes to provide the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (the Department) electronic data listing persons or entities that have three or more outstanding parking violations, including violations of Florida Statute 316.1955 for greater ease of communication with the Department; and WHEREAS, Florida Statute 316.1967(6) provides for electronic communication with the Department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the following underlined language be added to section 30.060, Clearwater Code of Ordinances: * * * * * * * ** (4) The designated parking violation processing services office shall supply the State of Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles with a magnetically encoded computer tape reel or cartridge or send by other electronic means data, which is machine readable by the installed computer system at that department, listing persons who have three or more outstanding parking violations or who have any outstanding violations of F.S. § 316.1955. * * * * * * * ** Section 2.
