09/16/1991 TRUSTEES OF THE EMPLOYEES' PENSION FUND MEETING September 16, 1991 The City Commission, meeting as the Board of Trustees of the Employees Pension Fund, met in regular session at City Hall, Monday, September 16, 1991 at 9:05 A.M., with the following members present: Rita Garvey Chairperson Lee Regulski Trustee William Nunamaker Trustee Richard Fitzgerald Trustee Sue Berfield Trustee Also Present were: Michael J. Wright City Manager Milton A. Galbraith, Jr. City Attorney Cynthia E. Goudeau City Clerk ITEM #2 - Minutes: Trustee Nunamaker moved to approve the minutes of the September 3, 1991, meeting. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #3 - Request for Denial of Membership: The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee to deny membership for the employee(s) listed below: a) Virginia Larcom - Thyroidectomy b) Brian Stettler - Spine problem A question was raised regarding the ability to deny membership to Mr. Stettler due to a spine problem. H. M. Laursen, Personnel Director, indicated the doctor has recommended denial and the City Attorney has advised that the practice of taking the doctor's recommendation should be continued. He also reported Mr. Stettler planned to address the Pension Advisory Committee regarding this. Trustee Regulski moved to deny membership to Virginia Larcom and refer reconsideration of Brian Stettler to the Pension Advisory Committee. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #4 - Request for Pension: The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee that the employee listed below be granted a regular pension under Section 26.34 and/or 26.37 of the Employees' Pension Plan. Leo F. Menendez, Jr. Trustee Fitzgerald moved to accept the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #5 - Other Business: None. ITEM # 6 - Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 9:08 a.m.
