Chair Hen ley called the meeting to order at 5:14 p,rn, at the Munidipal Services Building..
To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily
discussed, in that order
Consideration of lleario&Officer's Recommended Order Re: CiV vs. Derick Blunt
Jawdat Rubaii, Es q,, was there to represent Derick Blunt.
The Heahng Officer recommended that the terrninatcn of Mr, Blunt be upheld, Human
Resources Director Joseph Roseto read into the record the reasons for the termination of Mr.
Blunt, Leslie loin gall_Sides, Assistaint City Attorney, offered all the records and exhibits into the
record, Each party was given,an opportunity to present its case. Board inernbers asked their
relevant uestions.
At the conclusion of the presentations, Debbie Ford moved to accept the Hearing Officer's
Recommended Order. The motion was duly seconded by Dawn WaISPI'and carried unanimously.

ORDER OF DETERMINATION OF PENALTY
THIS MATTER coming on to be heard before the Civil Service Board of the City of
Clearwater, Florida, in the matter of the appeal of DERICK BLUNT of his termination and
pursuant to Section 2.285(4) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, the said Board
having been convened on January 28, 2014, to consider the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of
Law of the Recommended Order of Hearing Officer Herbert E. Langford, Jr., and the Board
having considered this matter and the charges in the Termination Notice and having considered
the Recommended Order of the Hearing Officer and being otherwise fully advised in the
premises, the Board by motion duly made and carried DETERMINED AS FOLLOWS:
That the termination of DERICK BLUNT be upheld.
DONE AND ORDERED by the Civil Service Board of the City of Clearwater this
day of January, 2014 at the Municipal Services Building, Clearwater, Florida.
