02/19/1991 TRUSTEES OF THE EMPLOYEES' PENSION FUND MEETING February 19, 1991 The City Commission, meeting as the Board of Trustees of the Employees Pension Fund, met in regular session at City Hall, Tuesday, February 19, 1991 at 10:25 A.M., with the following members present: Rita Garvey Chairperson Lee Regulski Trustee William Nunamaker Trustee (arrived 10:26) Richard Fitzgerald Trustee Sue Berfield Trustee Also Present were: Ron H. Rabun City Manager Milton A. Galbraith, Jr. City Attorney Cynthia E. Goudeau City Clerk ITEM #2 - Minutes: Trustee Fitzgerald moved to approve the minutes of the February 4, 1991, meeting. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #3 - Request for Acceptance into Membership: The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee to approve membership for the employee(s) listed below: a) Earl Barrett b) Patricia Schrems c) Jennie Ackley d) Steve Bochno e) Jeffrey Jarka f) William Beasley g) Mary Poole h) Walter McAleer i) Aundra Williams j) Tracy Kimball k) Patricia Shea l) Ronald Reist m) Anthony Young n) Richard Gorst Trustee Regulski moved to accept the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #4 - Denial of Pension: The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee that Jacqualyn DeGroy be denied membership in the Employees' Pension Plan. In response to questions, it was indicated the reason for recommending denial is because Ms. DeGroy had a mastectomy and was therefore considered a helath risk. It was further indicated that if in two years, she has had no further problems, she would be allowed to reapply for membership. Trustee Regulski moved to accept the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #5 - Request for Pension: The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee that Robert L. Jones be granted a regular pension under Section 26.34 and/or 26.37 of the Employees' Pension Plan. Trustee Berfield moved to accept the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #6 - Other Business: The City Manager reported staff is still working on the medical standards for the Pension Plan. ITEM #7 - Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 10:28 a.m.
