04/16/1990 TRUSTEES OF THE EMPLOYEES' PENSION FUND MEETING
April 16, 1990
The City Commission, meeting as the Board of Trustees of the Employees Pension Fund, met in regular session at City Hall, Monday, April 16, 1990 at 9:01 A.M., with the following members
present:
Rita Garvey Chairperson
Lee Regulski Trustee
William Nunamaker Trustee
Richard Fitzgerald Trustee
Sue Berfield Trustee
Also Present were:
Ron H. Rabun City Manager
Milton A. Galbraith, Jr. City Attorney
Cynthia E. Goudeau City Clerk
ITEM #2 - Minutes:
Trustee Berfield moved to approve the minutes of the April 2, 1990, meeting. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously.
ITEM #3 - Request for Acceptance into Membership:
The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee to approve membership for the employee(s) listed below:
a) Richard Cadwell
b) William Buzzell
c) Anthony McClaney
d) Wilson Brooks
Trustee Regulski moved to accept the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously.
ITEM #4 - Request for Pension to be vested:
The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee that the employee(s) listed below be permitted to vest his/her pension under Section 26.49 of the Employees'
Pension Plan.
a) Wayman J. Pearson
Trustee Regulski moved to accept the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously.
ITEM #5 - Other Business:
H. M. Laursen reported Eddie Voiland is withdrawing his request for a job-connected disability. He also reported John Nicholson, of the Pension Advisory Committee, received a response
from the Attorney General to their request for an opinion regarding whether or not the City Commission acting as the Pension Trustees was dual office holding. The Attorney General stated
he could not give an opinion, therefore a previous opinion, that there is no conflict, stands.
Officer DeSantis requested an extension to December for his pay back to the Pension Plan. As the Pension Advisory Committee set the 60 day limit, which expires 5/6/90, the Trustees
referred the matter to them for discussion at the
Pension Advisory Committee meeting of 4/18/90.
