04/17/1989 TRUSTEES OF THE EMPLOYEES' PENSION FUND MEETING April 17, 1989 The City Commission, meeting as the Board of Trustees of the Employees Pension Fund, met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, April 17, 1989 at 9:06 A.M., with the following members present: Rita Garvey Mayor/Commissioner Lee Regulski Commissioner Don Winner Commissioner William Nunamaker Commissioner Richard Fitzgerald Commissioner Also Present were: Ron H. Rabun City Manager Milton A. Galbraith, Jr. City Attorney Cynthia E. Goudeau City Clerk ITEM #2 - Minutes: Commissioner Winner moved to approve the minutes of the April 3, 1989, meeting. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #3 - Request for Acceptance into Membership: The City Manager presented the recommendation of the AdvisoryCommittee to approve membership for eleven (11) employees listed below: Name Classification Department James Houck Police Officer Police Eugene Tobias Police Recruit I Police Robert Fava Police Recruit I Police Linda Stverak Police Officer Police Chrystal Holmes Personnel Asst. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #4 - Request for vested pension: The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Pension Advisory Committee that the employee listed below be permitted to vest his pension under Sec. 26.49 of the Employees' Pension Plan: Name Classification Department Michael Stuart Police Officer Police Dept. Commissioner Winner moved to accept the recommendation of the Advisory Committee. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Discussion ensued re the impact on people over 45 years of age at time of hiring being included in the City's pension plan. The City Manager reported alternatives are being investigated.
