01/03/1989 TRUSTEES OF THE EMPLOYEES' PENSION FUND MEETING January 3, l989 The City Commission, meeting as the Board of Trustees of the Employees Pension Fund, met in regular session at the City Hall, Tuesday, January 3, 1989, at 9:00 a.m., with the following members present: Rita Garvey Mayor/Commissioner James Berfield Vice-Mayor/Commissioner Lee Regulski Commissioner Don Winner Commissioner William Nunamaker Commissioner Also Present were: Ron Rabun City Manager Milton A. Galbraith, Jr. City Attorney Cynthia E. Goudeau City Clerk ITEM #2 - Minutes: Commissioner Winner moved to approve the minutes of the November 28, 1988, meeting. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #3 - Request for Acceptance into Membership: The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Advisory Committee to approve membership for thirteen (13) employees listed below: Name Classification Department James Wingender Irrig. Police Wanda West Police ser. Tech. Police Sabrina Gonzalez Data Proc. Trainee Cen. Ser./Data Proc. Commissioner Regulski moved to accept the recommendation of the Advisory Committee. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #4 - Request for Pension: The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Advisory Committee, General Employees' Pension Fund that the employees listed below be granted a regular pension under Section 26.34 of the Employees' Pension Plan. James H. Cottrell, Fire Fighter, Fire Department, to be effective January 18, 1989 at an amount to be calculated at a later date. Clarence Meyer, Jr., Asst. Fire Chief, Fire Department, to be effective October 16, l989 at an amount to be calculated at a later date. Commissioner Winner moved to accept the recommendation of the Advisory Committee. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #5 - Effective Date Correction: Michael Wilkins, Building Inspector I, Planning and Development/Building Department had previously been approved for membership on October 12, l987, with an effective date of August 31, l987. It was discovered this was an error; therefore, he must be approved with the correct date of August 20, l987. ITEM # 6 - Other Business: Commissioner Regulski questioned the status of the suit regarding non-pensioners. The City Attorney stated a motion to dismiss has been filed. ITEM #7 - Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 9:12 A.M.
