11/28/1988 TRUSTEES OF THE EMPLOYEES' PENSION FUND MEETING Nov. 28, 1988 The City Commission, meeting as the Board of Trustees of the Employees Pension Fund, met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, November 28, 1988, at 9:20 a.m., with the following members present: Rita Garvey Mayor/Commissioner James Berfield Vice-Mayor/Commissioner Lee Regulski Commissioner Don Winner Commissioner William Nunamaker Commissioner Also Present were: Ron H. Rabun City Manager Milton A. Galbraith, Jr. City Attorney Cynthia E. Goudeau City Clerk ITEM #2 - Minutes: Commissioner Regulski moved to approve the minutes of the October 31, 1988, meeting. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #3 - Request for Acceptance into Membership: The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Advisory Committee to approve membership for eleven (11) employees listed below: Name Classification Department Jack St. Hillaire Police Recruit I Police Ann Baranco Sr. Laboratory Tech. Worker I Util./Water John Smith Police Recruit II Police Jose Reid Police Recruit II Police Commissioner Winner moved to accept the recommendation of the Advisory Committee. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #4 - Request for Pension The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Advisory Committee, General Employees' Pension Fund that the employees listed below be granted a regular pension under Section 26.34 and/or 26.37 of the Employees' Pension Plan. James J. Weber, Police Officer, Police Department, to be effective December 2, l988, at an amount to be calculated at a later date. Commissioner Winner moved to accept the recommendation of the Advisory Board. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #5 - Other Business: In response to a question the City Attorney stated the changes to the Pension Plan approved by the voters 11/8/88 took effect election day. Discussion ensued regarding the status of the Pension Plan. It was stated negotiations are continuing. The City Manager reported the possibility of going to an ICMA plan is still being investigated.
