The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. at the Municipal Services Building.
To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order.
ITEM #A - Approval of Minutes – June 14, 2000
Member Nall moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of June 14, 2000, as recorded and submitted in written summation to each board member. The motion was duly seconded and
carried unanimously.
ITEM #B - Continued Requests – None.
ITEM #C - New Requests
1) 1011 N. Garden Avenue, Owners: Lula Cromeadie, Equitable, Joanne C. Mortimer, Legal, and John C. Locke, Representative. To request deferral of demolition for one month to allow
property owners to decide how they are going to proceed. Located at J. J. Eldridge Sub. Blk D Lot 37. Parcel 09-29-15-25542-004-0370
Building Construction Inspector Bill Wright said he received a letter from John Locke, the owner’s representative, requesting a deferral of demolition for one month to allow the property
owners to determine what they will do with the property at 1011 N. Garden Avenue. Mr. Locke indicates he also has a scheduling conflict. Inspector Wright said he felt if the Board
grants this extension, Mr. Locke will again ask for an extension at the next meeting. The owner has already has a month to remedy the violations. In response to a question, Mr. Wright
said the property is repairable. Health and sanitary violations, plumbing, flooring repairs, etc. must be done. At one time 13 people resided at the property. There are 2 people
still living on the premises in this condition. A lead-based paint problem also exists and is being investigated. Mr. Wright said the property owners were notified of today’s hearing.
Member Corcoran moved to grant a 30-day extension to allow the property owners to demolish the structure or make required repairs at property at 1011 N. Garden Avenue. The motion was
duly seconded and carried unanimously.
2) 915 Blanche B. Littlejohn Trail, Owner: Ethel Darlage. To allow owner to be in town to get contractor to demolish the structure. Located Part of Parcel 09-29-15-00000-410-0100 from
NE Cor of SE ¼ runw 30ft for pob th S 115ft(s) sw’ly and more legal.

Ethel Darlage, property owner, said she is anxious to proceed with demolition of the structure at 915 Blanche B. Littlejohn Trail as she lives out of town. She requested a 60-day extension
to obtain demolition bids, relocate tenants, and secure the property. Inspector Wright said if Ms. Darlage signs a waiver, the City can put the demolition out to bid. Ms. Darlage said
she will have the property secured and will meet with Inspector Wright Monday regarding the waiver and bids.
Member Corcoran moved to grant a 60-day extension to allow the property owner to secure the building and sign a waiver for the City to obtain bids to demolish the structure at 915 Blanche
B. Littlejohn Trail. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously.
3) 1012 Jones Street. Owner: David Nelson Construction Co., Vernon Hassell, Representative. To request extension of time to close on sale of property and make repairs. New owner
to be Vernon Hassell. Located Park Plaza Blk D Lot 14.

Vernon Hassell, representative, said he is in the process of purchasing the property at 1012 Jones Street. He is attempting to obtain the title and requests a 60-day time extension
to close on the property and make repairs. He intends to rent the property. Inspector Wright said staff has no problem with the request for extension. It was remarked this property
previously was brought before the Board and was never rehabbed. Mr. Wright said the previous owner wanted to enclosed the front porch and make other renovations that were not permitted.
Mr. Hassell said he cannot make repairs to the property until he receives the deed.
Member Shah moved to grant a 60-day extension as requested for property at 1012 Jones Street. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously.
