WRITTEN SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS: (Code Section 3-1807.C) Signage proposed as part of a Comprehensive Sign Program may deviate from the minimum sign standards in terms of numbers of signs per business or parcel of land, maximum area of sign face per parcel of land and the total area of sign faces per business or parcel of land, subject to compliance with the flexibility criteria outlined below. Monument signs, pursuant to Sections 3-1806.8.1.g and 3-18068.2 shall not be eligible for this program. As part of the program, all sign types (freestanding, attached, windows, interior site directional, etc.) shall be reviewed for the business andlor the development parcel to achieve compliance in so far as possible with these current regulations. A master sign program for shopping centers, including all out parcels, and office complexes shall include all types of signs for all tenantsluses within the development parcel. These will be reviewed as a Comprehensive Sign Program application. All existing and proposed signs must be architecturally integrated into the design of the building andlor site using similar and coordinated design and style features, materials and colors, etc. Attached signs shall be horizontally and vertically proportionately located on each far;ade with no protrusions above roof lines, over windows, trim, comices or other building features. D Provide complete responses to the COMPREHENSIVE SIGN PROGRAM CRITERIA including how the criteria are met: 1. Architectural Theme. Two logo signs will be 4.5 square feet in area (0.39 percent of the fa~ade of the building) each. One each will be placed on the north and east sides of the gas canopy. The north side of the canopy with also include a sign next to the logo that will read "AMERICO" in blue and red letters of 21.25 square feet (1.84 percent of the building fa~ade). The fourth sign, 27.75 square feet in area (2.41 percent of the fa~ade of the building), will be attached to the southeast fa~ade, and will read "XPRESS MART" in red, white and blue letters attached directly to the fac;ade of the building. The proposal also includes a request to increase the area of a freestanding sign from 20 square feet in area (1.7 percent of the east fac;ade of the building) to 38 square feet in area (one quarter the lot width along South Highland Avenue of 150 feet). The sign will be nine feet in height above grade place within a drainage swale 1.5 feet in depth (10.5 feet overall height). A solid base will support the sign and will be light sand in color to match the primary color of the building. The sign will consist of three inserts. The top insert will read "AMERICa FOOD * FUEL" in red and blue letters on a white background with a red logo above. The middle insert will be have "Blimpie" and "CARW ASH in blue letters on a white background. The bottom insert will consist of gasoline prices in black letters on a white background. The address in black letters will be located on each side of the sign.
