Dear Mr. Oij
On November 25, 2002, the Planning Staff reviewed your application for a
Comprehensive Sign Program to replace an existing 50 square foot attached sign (located
on the south fa<;ade of the building) and a 32 square foot attached sign (located on the east
fa<;ade of the building) with two, 46.44 square foot attached signs (4.7 and 3.3 percent of
the south and west fa<;ades of the building, to which they will be attached, respectively)
and a 25.3 square foot sign (1.8 percent of the fa<;ade of the building to which it will be
attached), respectively. The area of attached signage will increase from the area of
attached signage from 72 square feet to 118.18 square feet. The signs will read
"Advance/Discount Auto Parts" in yellow letters with a red background with a black and
white checker flag to the right.
An freestanding sign 60 square feet in area and 20 feet in height located along the front
(south) property line along Gulf to Bay Boulevard will be removed with this proposal.
The application for the Comprehensive Sign Program has been approved for the signs as
submitted (attached) with the following three conditions:
1) That all Code requirements under the provisions of Section 3-1801 be met;
2) That the existing freestanding sign be removed prior to final inspection of the
attached signs; and
3) That no freestanding signs be permitted on the site;

Pursuant to Section 4-303, an application for a building permit shall be made within one
(1) year of the date of this Development Order (December 2,2003). All required building
approvals shall be obtained within one (1) year of the date of issuance of the initial
building permit. Permitted time frames do not change with successive owners.
Please be aware that the issuance of this Development Order does not relieve you of the
necessity to obtain any building permits or pay any fees that may be required. In order to
facilitate the issuance of any permit or license affected by this approval, please bring a
copy of this letter with you when applying for any permits or licenses that require this
prior development approval.

1. Architectural Theme
The Advance/Discount Auto Sign package has been created to complement the architectural
design ofthe building. The building incorporates a facia area that is intended for signage to be
placed upon. The colors and design are part ofthe national corporate image for
Advance/Discount Auto Parts.
2. Height
The wall signs are attached to the building below the height ofthe building. The existing
freestanding sign is 20' tall. Only the face of the .freestanding ~ change.

Changing the signage to read "Advance Discount Auto Parts" should not negatively impact
property values.
